In addition to the core curriculum, our Isla Mujeres trainings are uniquely enriched by the culture, history, and healing traditions of the island. Students will experience Mayan-inspired ceremonies, meditation practices in nature, visits to sacred sites connected to the goddess Ixchel, sound healing experiences, and opportunities to connect deeply with both the land and themselves.
By the end of the program, students leave with an internationally recognized Yoga Alliance certification, a strong personal practice, lifelong friendships, and the confidence to teach safe, inspiring, and meaningful yoga classes anywhere in the world.
What makes our Isla Mujeres Yoga Teacher Training truly special is that it is designed to feel immersive, not intensive. While you'll receive a full 200 hours of Yoga Alliance–accredited education, we believe learning happens best when students feel inspired, supported, and connected—not rushed or overwhelmed.
Our days are thoughtfully balanced with yoga practice, philosophy, anatomy, workshops, meditation, community connection, and plenty of opportunities to rest, reflect, and soak in the beauty of island life. From sunrise meditations overlooking the Caribbean Sea to meaningful conversations by the pool, every aspect of the experience is designed to help students embody the teachings rather than simply memorize them.
Isla Mujeres itself plays a powerful role in the journey. Known as the Island of Women and historically dedicated to the Mayan goddess Ixchel, the island has long been regarded as a place of healing, reflection, and transformation. Our center is located just minutes from Punta Sur and the ancient healing grounds associated with Ixchel, allowing us to weave local traditions, ceremonies, and cultural experiences into the training in a meaningful and respectful way.
Our teaching team is made up of passionate wellness professionals, experienced educators, and lifelong students of the practice who are dedicated to creating a learning environment that feels engaging, supportive, and fun. We believe some of the deepest learning happens through experience, connection, curiosity, and laughter.
Students stay on a lush tropical property surrounded by palm trees, colorful gardens, and the relaxed rhythm of island life. Three nourishing, home-cooked meals are served daily, thoughtfully prepared with fresh ingredients and inspired by local flavors whenever possible.
Most importantly, our training is about so much more than becoming a yoga teacher. It is an opportunity to deepen your relationship with yourself, connect with a community of like-minded students from around the world, explore the rich traditions of yoga, and return home with not only a certification, but a renewed sense of purpose, confidence, and connection.
